Absolutely agree with this stamp. Tired of not getting feedback on my photos.

Le me: *gets about 100 favs on an artwork, still gets 0 comments on it*
ORE0S Featured By Owner Jan 18, 2015
There needs to be a stamp that says "It's rude to demand things from people who enjoy your art". I rarely have things to say, and I get anxious when making comments on art, so usually I favorite instead to show I like it. Besides, demanding comments does nothing but turn people away usually. What if someone really likes your art, can't get the right words out, and just wants to favorite instead? Or if someone gets really bad anxiety when it comes to commenting? Besides, a comment that was demanded and forced means NOTHING compared to a comment someone actually wants to make. With a comment someone actually wants to make, they actually mean it.

i didnt think it was possible to be this stupid

so when someone doesnt have anything to say but likes your art, that's rude? when someone's too shy for any reason to comment on your art (shyness? on the internet?? impossible...) that's rude? are you fuckin' kidding me

I'm totaly agree with you.
It's realy sometimes can be dissapoiting that the half ( or even much more ) of them don't even care about others' feelings :(
MIZZKIE Featured By Owner Jul 4, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
Rude? What I think is rude is to be demanding something.

Also, imagine the popular artists with thousands of Watchers and millions of Faves each day...or each HOUR. How much stress do you think they'll get if their inbox is filled with "cool" "kawaii desu ne" and that sort of hard-to-reply comments? They can't just delete everything since there are those people who make decent comments that are actually about the art itself.
kabya19 Featured By Owner May 6, 2011  Hobbyist Digital Artist
You know what? No. Cause a fave is still a compliment to the artist. You don't have to sit and think of something intelligent to say for something that you faved simply cause you like it. I fave a lot of cute stuff simply because it's cute and honestly that's the only thing I can say. And "cute, cool and aww" are not comments. They're just words that should be obvious. If faving without comments is rude, I'd rather you be rude that spam my inbox with the word "cute".
DarknessTare Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2011  Hobbyist Writer
:+fav: should be compliment enough, I get more :+fav:s than I get comments at all, you don't hear me complain :)

At least be happy that you get attention in some way *shrugs*
OptimisticRebel Featured By Owner Jan 6, 2011   Traditional Artist
A lot of deviants find it a rude practice to come across a piece of work and find it has a thumbnail under it stating "Comment before you fave"

I agree with that.
Just shut the fuck up, and be happy that somebody liked the art you uploaded and stop whining that they didn't leave you a fucking comment.

Rude? RUDE?! Goddamnit, just BE HAPPY, people LIKE your art when they fave it. You should be happy with that. Your piece of art has been chosen to be one of their favorites out of millions of deviations here on DA. Is that rude?

I don't think so.

Hello! I hope this message finds you well and good. I am a member of the Comment-Worthy-Army and would like to see if you are interested in joining. The whole point of the group is to have interested deviants sign a petition for DA admins to read. In order to sign you simply join the group! Easy, yes? What is the petition for you ask? It is for the encouragement of meaningful comments on any given deviation before a favorite is allowed. Please, visit here: :iconcomment-worthy-army: [link] for the full explanation and to join if you so wish. Thank you for reading and have a great day!

That's so true, thank for making this stamp. ^^
sassawj Featured By Owner Dec 21, 2009
Lolllll. Rude? Actually, what's really rude are those whiny, unappreciative, pompous artists who demand for comments instead of being happy with the favorite they received - it is better than receiving nothing at all.

Some people cannot properly express how they truly feel about a piece of artwork, and others do not have the time to put together a meaningful comment. You, as well as those who agree with your stance, should just learn to deal with it.

Anyway, here is your comment, but no favorite. ;)
funlakota Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2010
How would you feel if this happened to you ALL THE TIME?!? And by the same people?!? It's just as annoying. I think I would rather not have my deviations faved at all at this point.

Oh well, we're all entitled to different opinions on the matter. :)
sassawj Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2010
Actually, that happens to me quite often, but I have no reason to complain, unlike you. I am happy that someone enjoys my work enough to add it to their favorites, regardless if they comment or not, and I do receive many comments anyway, so that's just as nice too. I am very appreciative and happy with receiving anything, maybe you should try it. :)
funlakota Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2010
Fair enough. Maybe when more than 2 people comment, I'll be happy too. =P

I complain because I want feedback on how to improve, and faves don't give me that.
Yukira-Hotoshi Featured By Owner Nov 16, 2009

If people don't want to comment,

then they don't have to.

Very simple.

SOOO true~! Thank you for making this stamps! You don't mind if I use it, do you?
AquaBlue10 Featured By Owner Aug 26, 2008
I don't get it.
Gajon Featured By Owner Aug 12, 2008
Hmm...well, I wouldn't call it rude. Let's say you like a deviation and you have nothing to say about it, I don't think it will be a good idea to just say, "Nice deviation! :+fav:" It would be kinda disappointing, in my opinion. Fav-and-runners are just people who like your submission so much, they're speechless. That's how I look at it, anyway.
funlakota Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2010
What if they do this to you ALL THE TIME? It seems those are the only people who even look at my art, so it's a big let-down when they won't even take the time to comment. Heck it makes me wonder if they even LOOK at my work because some of them say to comment first RIGHT ON THEM.

How am I supposed to get better without feedback?
glaceon23 Featured By Owner Feb 27, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Maybe they don't know HOW to tell you to improve. I'm not very good at critiquing, or even coming up with a comment for deviations, so i usually just fave. I don't understand how it's rude. It shows they like your art, and maybe they aren't able to think of a comment. I have a deviation with 57 favorites and 35 comments. However, about 25 of those comments are from conversations. I'm completely fine with that, because at least people like my work.
funlakota Featured By Owner Feb 27, 2012
That's fine with me for people to do every once and a while; I understand that it can be hard to think of what to say or that the person may not see problems. But it seems people are always doing that to me, including people who fave my entire gallery without commenting even once.

Besides how am I supposed to get a conversation going when more than likely the other person doesn't want to have one? A few people have told me they don't want to have a conservation when I try to prompt them.

Want an example of this? My most faved deviation has a little over 1000 faves but under 200 comments, half of which are from me thanking the person for the kind words. That's about 1 comment for every 10 faves. It seems excessive.

I do make a few exceptions. Like for my fan stamps. I have about a dozen stamps for Digimon characters. There's little need to comment on those since the idea behind them is to show that you like the characters, so I expect more faves for them. And most of them don't have comments as a result. It's cool that people like them and want to use them. ^^ That's the point of these sort of stamps.

Thanks for replying. ^^

I'm gonna fav this and run without commenting! >D

...Oh wait... :ohnoes: You tricked me!

Oh well. xP
Lord-Aradon Featured By Owner Aug 12, 2008  Hobbyist Photographer
Meh, I think that faving is often enough, I sometimes don't have anything to say about a piece, but I like it enough to have it in my collection, so faving it is the ultimate way of saying "I really like this"

In my opinion
Lord-Aradon Featured By Owner Aug 12, 2008  Hobbyist Photographer
